The Android OS has become very popular over the past few years. Android does not have one certain phone brand as it is on multiple brands like Samsung, HTC, Motorola, and LG. The versions of Android include Donut, Eclair, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kit Kat, and the most recent version Lolipop.

Android 1.6, also known as Donut includes update to the Android Market, making it easier to find apps and games, apps are separated into Top free, Top paid, and newly released. You can now search the system for stuff instead of just google internet searches. The battery screen usage was added so now you can know what draining all your battery.

Eclair
This is version 2.2 of Android which included Microsoft exchange support and camera updates. You can now use on screen buttons to take photos, access flash, and zoom in while taking pictures. You could turn your phone into a portable hotspot. More languages have also been added to the keyboard that will change the letters and auto suggest options.

Gingerbread
In version 2.3 of Android the interface was improved to make the system feel faster and sleek. You can also manage your battery usage and see what is draining your battery so you can turn it off, or use it less. Some improvments were made to the system so apps and games can run smoother, faster, and have less pauses and crashes.

Honeycomb
Android 3.0, with the target for larger screen devices, like tablets. Notifications, multitasking, and some other things have been added to make things feel and look even better. Standard apps have been updated like the Broswer, that got multi touch support and Incognito mode was added. The Camera, Gallery, Contacts, and Email were also updated.

Also added were actions you could do from the lock screen, when you are recieving a call you no longer need to unlock the phone to deny or send a text message to respond. You can swipe to dismiss notifications broswers tabs and other actions. Also you can control your data usage and through the people app you can link your phone number, contacts, and social media groups all into one.
